SPD Visiting the Bangkok Protection Center for the Destitute, at the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security

On 25th November 2022, Dr. Sorasich Swangsilp and Dr. Mahesh Chougule accompanied our SPD students enrolled in the course "Comparative Welfare States" on a visit to the Bangkok Protection Center for the Destitute, at the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.

Ms. Thapanee Sirisomboon, the Director of the center welcomed the group and delivered a presentation. Our students learnt about the crucial work of the Center in preventing and solving the problems of the homeless, beggars, buskers, and people who face social problems in the Bangkok area and the Center’s process in dealing with different cases through the social work mechanism.
